“Large Men with Small Brushes” - New Art Exhibit in Meridian City Hall’s Initial Point Gallery

An intriguing new exhibition, "Large Men with Small Brushes," is coming soon to Meridian City Hall’s Initial Point Gallery, which will open on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. This exhibit will feature the works of ceramicist Andrew Forbes and five local watercolor artists: Scott Muscolo, Roy Gover, Hugh Mossman, Dennis Hayzlett, and Don Belts.

The exhibit’s tongue-in-cheek title is a playful paradox designed to spark curiosity, contrasting the idea of "large" men with the delicate "small brushes" used in the medium. This exhibit is not a statement on gender but rather a fascinating exploration of artistic perspective, inviting viewers to engage with the works and perhaps even be surprised by what they find.

An Artist Reception will be held at the Initial Point Gallery on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet the artists and discuss their artwork.

There will also be a Watercolor Demo held at Initial Point Gallery on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, from 5:30 to 7:00 PM. This will be a free, live demonstration of watercolor hosted by the artists as a part of Meridian Art Week.

"Large Men with Small Brushes" will be on display through Friday, October 31, 2025.
